Canada Day Parade!
Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Canada Day. Although there is generally some controversy around celebrating Canada day as Indigenous people, I personally stick to the beliefs that I am a human first and foremost :) To say Canada and Indigenous people have had a controversial past is an understatement. That being said, I would like to think that we are still part of this great nation and working towards a greater goal.
On Saturday June 30th, the Sncewips Heritage Museum, WFN Public works, along with the float committee and other volunteers from WFN worked together to help create this years float in the annual parade. Our theme was based upon the four food chiefs and their significance to Syilx culture. I am so happy to announce that the WFN float won first place! We here at the Museum would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that made this great day happen, and to everyone that came out to celebrate alongside us.
