Jill Setah, a talented Indigenous fashion designer, was born in Oliver, BC, Canada, on February 11th. She hails from a family of resilience, with her parents being Residential School Survivors: her father, Louis August, from the Neskonlith Indian Band in Chase, BC, and her late mother, Norah Setah, from the Yunesit’in Government. Jill is one of six children and has been a registered member of the Yunesit’in Government since birth. The Yunesit’in Government, also known by its original placename ‘Gex Nats’inilht’ih’, holds historical significance related to rabbit hunting. It is one of the six communities within the Tsilhqot’in Nation in the interior of British Columbia, Canada.
